Dear colleagues and friends,

Warm greetings from the International Society for Plastination (ISP). We hope this message finds you well.

On behalf of the ISP, it is our great pleasure to welcome you from December 1 to 5, 2025, to Temuco, Chile, to the 13th International Interim Meeting on Plastination. This important scientific gathering will be held in conjunction with two major events: the 5th International Workshop on Plastination, hosted at the Plastination and Anatomical Techniques Laboratory of Universidad de La Frontera (UFRO), and the 7th International Congress on Anatomical Techniques.

This joint meeting represents a unique opportunity to advance the field of plastination and anatomical sciences globally. The Interim Meeting aims to expand access to plastination techniques for the creation of high-quality anatomical specimens, supporting both teaching and research. It will serve as a platform to promote scientific collaboration, stimulate innovation in preservation methods, and position South America as a strategic hub in anatomical education and research. It is also a strong incentive for local and regional institutions to develop their own plastination facilities and capabilities.

The 5th International Workshop on Plastination, from December 1 to 4, officially certified by the ISP, is a practical course that provides 50 hours of certified training. Participants will gain comprehensive hands-on experience in all plastination techniques, including:

  • Standard silicone plastination (S10)

  • Cold and room temperature plastination

  • Sheet plastination with epoxy (E12) and polyester (P40)

  • Ultra-thin sheet plastination and micro-plastination

  • Acetone recycling and biosafety procedures

  • Laboratory installation and infrastructure planning

  • Anatomical techniques related with plastination

This event will bring together leading international experts in plastination, offering an exceptional environment for learning, networking, and innovation.

We look forward to welcoming you to Temuco and sharing with you a truly enriching scientific and cultural experience.

Best wishes from Temuco,

Dr. Nicolás E. Ottone

President of 13th International Interim Meeting on Plastination

Vice-President International Society for Plastination (ISP)
